The Vacancy
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager or an Assistant Project Manager to join our busy Projects Team, to work on a wide range of exciting major excavation projects.
The Role
You will be part of a dedicated, highly motivated and collaborative team that deliver quality, client-focussed project work. The team are responsible for managing archaeological projects throughout their lifecycle. Tasks include preparation of bids, project design, mobilisation in the field, stakeholder and public engagement, reporting and publication.
MOLAs Projects division, in which this role plays a pivotal part, has a core commercial function and one of our key objectives is to assist our valued clients in meeting their planning requirements, embed our work within their projects and to promote social and public benefit.
In the first instance we are looking for a Project Manager who is highly experienced in the delivery of archaeological projects at a management and consultancy level, with experience in London or urban archaeology; including a solid working knowledge of preparing bids, contract management, resource planning, programme management, change control, forecasting and financial reporting.
We would also like to consider applications for an Assistant Project Manager role that would suit an experienced heritage professional, wanting to develop their skills and career in archaeological project management.
All roles have a business development element, and therefore, a commercially focussed outlook, confident and proactive team leadership skill, problem solving and adaptability in approach are essential to success in the role. A driving licence is also highly desirable as regular travel is expected as part of the role, both within and outside of London.
