MOLA is seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join our dedicated and very busy Heritage & Planning Team in the London Office.

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience of archaeological consultancy providing client advice, preparing archaeological Desk Based Assessments and inputting into Environmental Impact Assessments. Experience of built heritage projects would be highly desirable but not essential.

You will be a highly motived and experienced individual who can take responsibility for the management and delivery of a range of projects to secure planning permission and other consents for our clients. Motivating our team of consultants in the preparation of high-quality reports to meet the requirements of our clients and delivering archaeological planning projects is a key deliverable of the role.

The successful candidate will be proficient at preparing Archaeological Desk Based Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments and have a good understanding of planning regulations and guidance, and other consent regimes. We also welcome candidates with Built Heritage expertise with experience of Heritage Statements, Impact Assessments and Conservation Management Plans.

The role requires financial reporting and contract management for your projects and includes an element of business development to maintain and build MOLA’s client base. A commercially focused outlook, confident and proactive team leadership skills, problem solving and adaptability in approach are essential to success in the role.

The Heritage & Planning Team provides expert heritage advice to guide our clients through the planning process. We specialise in assessing the potential for archaeology and built heritage to be affected by development proposals, helping our clients get the relevant permissions. We form valuable client relationships, often providing the first point of contact for clients who have had no experience of archaeology. MOLAs Project Managers lead and collaborate with all teams across our organisation, to ensure that our projects perform well and that our staff have appropriate opportunities to increase knowledge and develop their own careers.

If you would like to know more, please contact David Divers ddivers@mola.org.uk for an informal conversation about the role.
