The Vacancy
We are looking for a Reporting Officer to join our busy and enthusiastic Reporting and Publications Team, who are based across our offices in Northampton, Stansted and London.
The work will involve carrying out detailed post-excavation analysis and writing archaeological reports and publications for some of our larger and more significant projects. We’re proud of MOLA’s reputation for producing innovative, high-quality publications for some of the best archaeological sites in the UK, and we are looking for someone who committed to helping our team to achieve and maintain our high standards. As an Independent Research Organisation, we have strong links with the research community and for the right candidate there is potential within the role to carry out grant-funded research alongside working on our development-led projects.
What we’d like from you
You will have broad understanding of UK archaeology and the developer-funded sector, with a qualification in archaeology or a related subject, or equivalent experience. You should also have experience of archaeological fieldwork, or a relevant specialism based in a type of material, region, period or technical skill. You will have experience of producing archaeological reports and/or publications and will be comfortable with taking the lead on larger reporting or publication projects. You’ll enjoy the challenge of working with archaeological data in all its forms and should have some experience using digital tools commonly used to do this (such as GIS, MS Excel and databases). You should have an eye for detail and a proven ability to convey complex ideas concisely and clearly in writing.
