This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill our role of the Regional Community Archaeologist in Poole Harbour for a large community-led grant project with a digital mapping component.

Coasts in Mind (CIM) is a Heritage Funded 3-year project, centered around community led indicators of coastal and climate change, through community donated images, documents, and oral archive. The project offers an exciting opportunity supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Lloyds Register and Historic England, filled with possibilities to work with coastal communities in innovative ways to draw out memories and turn those memories into scientific data for coastal stakeholders.  Through this community archive of heritage data, our new CiM team will bring new and exciting methods of championing the heritage that coastal communities value most and find within them modern-day coastal change connections.

You will be one of four Community Archaeologist (CA) supporting the duties of your regional Project Officer (PO), helping to plan and deliver activities and events focused around CiM’s social value and research aims with community stakeholders. The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of regional activities with the PO, co-design events with local stakeholders and lead regional engagement with CiM’s three Priority Audiences: Local Young People (16-25 year olds), Local Older People (over 65s) and Structurally Disadvantaged Groups. This includes working closely with the Assistant Project Manager (Public Delivery) to ensure regional activities result in successful outputs, including image and audio data for inclusion in the digital mapping platform (‘Community Archive’). The CA is also responsible for planning and leading two regional placement training opportunities offered to local community members. The CA will uphold good record-keeping/reporting, ensure activity milestones are met and assist the PO in preparing/submitting NLHF and other stakeholder reports to the Project Manager.
